At KOcycle, sustainability isn’t just about giving old tech a second life – it’s about making sure that second life reaches the people who need it most.

That’s why we’re proud of our ongoing partnership with Community TechAid, a charity working tirelessly to get refurbished laptops and devices into the hands of individuals and families who would otherwise be left without access to the digital world.

More Than a One-Off Donation

Through our KODI programme, KOcycle regularly donates devices that come through our doors – laptops that still have plenty of life left in them, but which businesses no longer need. Rather than letting that value go to waste, we channel it straight into Community TechAid’s redistribution network, helping bridge the digital divide for people across the UK.

This isn’t a single feel-good gesture. It’s a recurring commitment, built into how we operate as a B Corp-certified business. Every device we pass on supports someone’s ability to job search, study, access healthcare, or simply stay connected, things many of us take for granted.

Why It Matters

The digital divide is still very real. Without a laptop, applying for jobs, helping kids with homework, or attending a GP appointment online becomes far harder. Community TechAid exists to close that gap, and KOcycle exists to make sure good technology doesn’t end up in landfill when it could be changing someone’s circumstances instead.

Together, that’s a partnership that turns e-waste reduction into real, tangible social impact.

Circularity With Purpose

For us, this relationship captures what responsible ITAD should be about: extending the life of technology, reducing environmental impact, and directing the benefit toward communities that need it most. It’s proof that sustainability and social value aren’t separate goals, they go hand in hand.

We’re proud to keep this partnership going, one laptop at a time.
