KOcycle made a big splash at the 2025 London Ambulance Dragon Boat Race, where they were proud to be recognised and applauded as the Event Sponsor right from the outset. Thanks to the generosity of supporters, they also raised an additional £220 through their JustGiving page (Donations are still open at JustGiving.)

Despite a number of last-minute dropouts, KOcycle rallied together a reduced rowing crew of George, Donny, Ryan-James, Lee, and David. Team spirit came alive when they joined forces with partners from XMA – Luke Bennison, Callum Johnson, and Andre Buckley – creating a combined team that quickly proved themselves contenders.
A special mention goes to Selloyd, who arrived to cheer from the sidelines but bravely stepped up as the stroke drummer, overcoming his fear of water and steering the team to victory. Mrs Donny Mok also deserves recognition for her energy and encouragement as the unofficial cheerleader, adding spirit and sparkle to the KOcycle crew.

The KOcycle / XMA partnership demonstrated the true power of collaboration. Despite rowing with only eight paddlers against teams of ten, they stormed through their first race with an impressive margin of victory – clocking 1 minute and 23 seconds over 200 metres.
This triumph marked the first maritime win in two years for both KOcycle and XMA. The crew went on to win their Minor Final, with their only defeat coming at the hands of the overall champions – a team who, judging by their performance, had clearly been training hard!
The event was a perfect example of teamwork, determination, and community spirit. It also served as a reminder that great things can be achieved when organisations come together with a shared purpose – both on the water and off it.
